How fortunate I am to have bald eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) so close to home in Westchester County, New York.
Eagles have been more visible in the area for several years now. I spend a lot of time trying to catch them in action. In this photo, I watched patiently for the eagle to take flight. These birds of prey can sit for hours so it can be quite the waiting game.
I think it was worth the wait.
