A Pop of Color

WCS’s Bronx Zoo is a wonderful spot for local birding.

Recently, I stopped by to take photos of the wild dogs and hyenas, and this little northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) caught my eye as it hopped along the bushes.

I was able to inch close enough to photograph this beautiful red bird that posed for quite some time.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This photo was chosen as the top submission for Wild View’s A Pop of Color assignment. Congratulations! Check out our current assignment Snap! Animal Pairs.
