Cooling Off

On a hot summer day while its fellow bears were sleeping, this brown bear was having a grand time cooling off in the pool at WCS’s Bronx Zoo.
I photographed the bear at this opportune moment when he was shaking the water off. While I took a number of photos, this was my favorite image. I especially like the arrangement of the bear’s wet hair and the water drops around the its nose.
Living in New York gives me the chance to take advantage of all the natural beauty throughout the state including moments like this one at the zoo.
