Sarah Markes and Tim Davenport
@WCS_TanzaniaSarah Markes worked on communications for the Wildlife Conservation Society’s East Africa, Madagascar, and Western Indian Ocean (EAMWIO) program. With a background in illustration, graphic design, and environmental science, her work included creating educational materials to support conservation efforts across the region. These are used by WCS, conservation partners, and educational institutions in East Africa and beyond. Tim Davenport is an award-winning conservationist who has worked across the African continent, involved in all aspects of conservation from research and monitoring, protected area management, and community conservation to education and law enforcement and trade. He has described a dozen new species to science including the kipunji and Matilda's viper, and helped set up 12 new reserves and parks. After 20 years with WCS he now works for Re:wild across Africa, and is also the Key Biodiversity Area Focal Point for Eastern and the Horn of Africa.
