Crossing Paths

Every time I get a new lens, I grab my gear, and head out on my bicycle.

My favorite place to go happens to be the perfect habitat for many of the snakes found in Pennsylvania. Sometimes, they’re on the side of a pathway, sometimes in a tree, sometimes on a wall – but this time, there was an unmistakable Eastern milk snake (Lampropeltis triangulum triangulum) right in the middle of the trail. Snakes and other reptiles are easy for me to spot because I’m on the lookout and ride with care.

As the snake made its way to the top of the nearby partridgeberry groundcover, I was able to get a few pictures before it disappeared under the vines in a flash.
