Spotting Stripes
- as seen by -
Byron TowlesOne spring morning while seeking out subjects to photograph in the New York Botanical Garden, I heard a rustling in the leaf and pine needle litter but didn’t see anything right away.
A slight movement caught my attention. This eastern chipmunk (Tamias striatus) appeared in my camera’s viewfinder. The colors of this small striped rodent’s coat allowed it to be virtually undetectable within the ground cover.
