I was extremely fortunate to locate a cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) with young cubs during a trip to South Africa and sat for well over an hour waiting for the cubs to come out of hiding to hopefully capture an image.

It was late in the afternoon when my patience paid off. This cub cautiously appeared from behind its mother and stood looking at me with its mother’s body serving as the perfect backdrop.
