The Honor of Seeing Wolves

I have been to numerous zoos across the country and have not seen a white wolf (among the range of colors of the gray wolf). Then, on my first trip to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington, I photographed this canid, one of five of these beautiful creatures living there. It is among my most memorable zoo visits.

I was so impressed by Woodland Park Zoo’s wolf exhibit. It is like their natural habitat and provides them with plenty of space to run. I was clicking away with my camera until my battery decided to die. Luckily, I got the shots I wanted.

As I continue to visit zoos in the United States on “zoocations”, I hope to have the honor of seeing wolves again.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This photo was selected by our readers as the winner from many great shots submitted for our cats and dogs assignment. Watch for other Wild View assignments here.
