Cheetahs: A Mother’s Day

The morning light was beautiful on the cheetahs’ spotted fur. It was perfect for photographing a mother’s day with her cubs at Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.

While visiting the reserve, we came upon this family of cheetahs. I captured this moment that shows the special bond between the mother and her little one as it gently bites her ear.

According to National Geographic, female cheetahs typically have three cubs. The young cheetahs stay with their mother for the first one and a half to two years learning behaviors like hunting techniques through playful games.
