Curious Cub

While working on a cheetah conservation project in South Africa, I was fortunate to find this cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) with young cubs. After waiting over an hour for the youngsters to emerge from the cover they were in so that I could capture an image, my patience paid off.

This particular cub came cautiously out from behind its mother to get a better look at me and as it did, the mother gently rested her head on top of it, providing me with this very special moment.
