Looking for Connections
- as seen by -
Michael CorradoWhile on a trip with some friends looking for birds and wildlife to photograph, we landed at Fort Desoto Beach in Florida where we came upon this flock of royal terns (Thalasseus maximus). I remember feeling the immediate impact of their color – beautiful tangerine beaks and black crests. As I watched the terns, I noticed several of them possibly pair bonding and made a series of images of them prancing around.
I am always looking for simple gestures between any subjects I photograph and found one in the connection between these two royal terns with their beaks gently touching.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This photo was chosen as one of the top submissions for Wild View’s Snap! Animal Pairs assignment. Congratulations!
