Look, No Hands
- as seen by -
Tim CollinsI was up early to catch the sun. The setting was spectacular; my views were of the wild Laikipia highlands stretching away to Mount Kenya, and everything in between was lit in golden dawn light. I was looking for birds and large mammals to photograph, but spotted this squirrel on a dead tree cleaning himself and generally looking very photogenic.
I have no idea why he was hanging like this, no hands and tongue out. It wasn’t a momentary pose but something the squirrel did for a minute or more.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The photo above was chosen as one of the top submissions for Wild View’s Surprises assignment. Congratulations!
