Blooms and Bees

John StahlDahlias come in just about every color except blue. Who would want a blue dahlia? This yellow one has a passenger, a northern bumble bee.
I try to make it an annual journey to the Dahlia Garden at the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, New York. While the flowers are certainly the attraction for most folks, it’s usually a treasure trove of mini critters like flies and bees for macro nuts like me.
