Intent on finding a herd of elephants, we were moving quickly thru the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe in a Land Cruiser when off on the left side of the road we spotted a small herd of sable hunkered down.
We stopped, and just as our vehicle came to a halt, the sable moved quickly across the road and into the bush on the other side. The animals were concerned for a reason – there were several very young calves within their herd.
I took several quick shots as the antelope ran across our path. This was my favorite from the sequence.
