Sentient Beings

Denise McCleanWatching our hamadryas baboon mom with her newborn is always engaging; especially as you see the infant grow and mature. I think this is one of my all-time favorite photos.
We tend to think of monkeys as funny, crazy and silly (think “barrel of…”). But when a moment like this is captured by the camera, it allows us to reflect deeply on the intelligence and dignity of the sentient beings that share our planet, and our obligation to care for the places they live, as we do our own.
This is why I work for the Wildlife Conservation Society.
