Nichole Shelmidine is the Supervisor of Animals at the Prospect Park Zoo. Previously, she was a wild animal keeper at the Bronx Zoo. She has done research and published articles on silver leaf monkeys and callitrichids. She is also the lead on the turtle propagation program at PPZ where they recently had success breeding Chinese big-headed turtles, an endangered species, that resulted in 5 hatchlings, a first for an AZA institution.
