D McAloose is a veterinary pathologist and head of pathology for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Working across taxa and species, areas of special interest include health and disease in big cats and marine mammals, and developing new technologies for identifying known and novel pathogens of conservation concern and endangered species trafficked ilegally in the wildlife trade. She is the AZA SSP Pathologist for Amur and snow leopards and maned wolves, and has been the consulting pathologist for the Southern Right Whale Health Monitoring Program (based in Argentina) for more than a decade.
