As a native New Yorker, Cindy Maur grew up going to the Wildlife Conservation Society's five wildlife parks in New York City. Almost 10 years ago, she realized her dream and started working as a zoo keeper for the very organization that was a source of inspiration. In 2011, she founded the NYC Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (NYC AAZK), which is a volunteer nonprofit organization whose goals are to promote professionalism in animal care and to support both local and global conservation efforts. Currently, Cindy is the president of NYC AAZK and is pursuing a MS in Nonprofit Management while working in the Bronx Zoo's mammal department. In her free time, Cindy enjoys travelling, good food, and spending time with great friends.
