Spots and Stripes

Assignment Open From
Jun 12 - Sep 15, 2024
“There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature.” – Antoni Gaudi, Architect
Nature is filled with patterns, spots and stripes among them.
Whether to blend in with habitat, attract mates, or as a warning sign, zebras, tigers, giraffes, snow leopards, skunks, chipmunks, clownfish, peafowl, poison frogs, raccoons, loons, butterflies, and bullfrogs are just some of the species that have distinctive spots and stripes.
For this assignment, find and photograph spots and/or stripes in nature (right, snow leopard) and share your shots with us.
Our editorial team will choose the best submissions based on appeal, composition, originality, and technical quality. A group of chosen shots for this assignment will be posted on this page, and one will be featured.
We can consider a maximum of six submissions per contributor.
ENTER FOR A CHANCE TO WIN!
For this assignment, we are offering an incentive. The author of the featured photo chosen by our editorial team will receive a Patagonia Pack 25L , perfect for transporting your gear to the office, the trail, or a weekend at the beach. See the official Contest Rules for more information.
