Proud Patriot
- as seen by -
Ken HuthBald Eagle. Majestic. Strong. Watchful. Proud. Patriotic. These words have been linked ever since the bald eagle was made our national symbol in 1782. For me, seeing a wild bald eagle makes me feel all of these.
Our nation’s birthday is the perfect time to remind ourselves of the importance of connections. Connections among family, friends, patriots, and with the land we claim as our own. We lost many of our eagles due to the now infamous pesticide DDT during the post WWII era. Our actions effect the world we live in. We are all connected.
This fourth of July when you tip your glass up and tilt your head back, keep your eyes open, and you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle overhead. Soaring majestically. Keeping a watchful eye. Connecting people to nature, people to people and rejuvenating patriots nationwide.
