Lisa Marie Avendaño
Wildlife Conservation Society
Lisa Marie Avendaño joined the Wildlife Conservation Society in 2022 as Deputy Director of the Bronx Zoo. Lisa Marie has been working as a zoo and aquarium professional since 1997 in a variety of roles including keeper, veterinary technician, zoo hospital manager, health department director, and vice president of animal programs. She earned a BA in Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA in Cultural Studies, and is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Leadership at the University of Houston Clear Lake.
