Gleb’s first “job”, after emigrating from the Soviet Union in 1988, was volunteering at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s World of Birds at the Bronx Zoo. Since then, he’s worked on conservation projects with indigenous peoples around the world, from Australia to Finland, from Ecuador to Altai, and from British Columbia to Kamchatka. For a few years he coordinated WCS’s Kamchatka Project.
