Claudio Campagna is a researcher at the Wildlife Conservation Society with an interest in marine conservation in open ocean protected areas, animal behavior, and the environmental ethics. His work focuses on the Patagonian Sea, particularly the marine mammals of Peninsula Valdes, in Argentina. He is founder of the Forum of NGOs for the conservation of the Patagonian Sea. B. J. Le Boeuf is Emeritus Professor of Biology at the University of California at Santa Cruz. He has conducted extensive research on the evolution of social behavior and the diving, foraging and migratory behavior of seals. On numerous trips to Patagonia, Argentina, he became acquainted him with the wildlife, especially the elephant seals and sea lions.
